Quality Engineer

Greater Los Angeles, CA

Position Description:

  • Perform internal and supplier audits in accordance with published schedules and procedures or specifications.
  • Review and follow-up on corrective action submittals and closes acceptable corrective actions, escalates to management as necessary any questionable corrective actions.
  • Review engineering drawings for accuracy following QA procedures.
  • Initiate and/or revise Quality Assurance manual, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Is the point of contact and individual who accompanies customers during an audit and provide any requested information and documentation for on-site review.
  • Perform AS9100 awareness training and implements processes as assigned by Management.
  • Perform and/or leads 8D, PDCA, DAMIC methodologies across the site.
  • Maintain and support the Quality Management system AS9100, NADCAP, etc…to include: reviews, audits, and training.
  • Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Understands work flows, Quality Management Systems, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis, implements and uses Six Sigma/ SPC and develops SOP'S (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Technical Skills - Understands and has working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS 9100, NADCAP, Mil-Specs, ITAR, aerospace specification, metallurgy, special processing, and raw material specification; Able to clearly share expertise and transfer technical knowledge to others; Communicates technical knowledge and expertise with customers to instill confidence regarding quality function.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in related discipline and minimum 5 years directly related experience required and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six Sigma - Green Belt certified highly desired. Strong drafting skills, excellent problem solving skills and ability to work within a team. Lean Six Sigma preferred.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience highly desired.
  • Working experience of manufacturing environment procedures.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications.
  • Certified 6 Sigma Black or Green Belt, Certified Quality Engineer and/or Auditor.
  • Compensation:

    $80,000 - $90,000 Estimated Annual Salary
