Senior Manufacturing / Project Engineer - Medical Device / Plastics

Position Description:
Major Medical Device Company expanding its operations is seeking take-charge Engineer that will direct activities to ensure the transfer of new/improved products into manufacturing are efficient, timely and meet design control requirements; oversee/manage manufacturing process improvement projects targeted at improving quality, cost, delivery and safety; manage project prioritization, execution and closure ensuring focus on business priorities and effective project management methods are used to deliver results; be accountable for compliance with current quality system procedures and implementing improvements to ensure regulatory compliance. This position is key to both the future planned growth of the organization and the reinforcement and expansion of the product portfolio at our manufacturing facility while also drawing from the experiences of our other facilities. Some international travel will be required.
Primary duties are as follows:
Provide sustaining engineering support for existing production lines.
Provide process development engineering support for new product development projects.
Initiate equipment modifications to improve productivity and product quality.
Work with outside vendors to coordinate the development of manufacturing equipment.
Work closely with maintenance department to improve machine reliability / reduce downtime.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
Normally requires a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar work environment.
Plant manufacturing experience a plus; injection molding or extrusion, FDA / GMP a plus.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Proficient in the design and troubleshooting of complex machine control systems and programs.
Experience in the design and support of automation equipment and production lines is desirable.
Compensation:
$75,000 - $85,000 Estimated Annual Salary
